The room didn't lock itself. Somebody locked it. That means the room was locked.

Felt is in the past tense. So, we need a past tense in the subordinate clause as well.

8. If he hadn’t robbed the bank, he …………………………………

Correct! Wrong!

To talk about hypothetical situations, we use a past perfect in the if-clause and would have + past participle in the main clause. We need a passive verb here.
