Adverbs are words that indicate ideas such as time, place, manner, frequency, condition, cause, effect etc. Identify the adverbs in the following sentences. Choose your answers from the given options.

Adverbs are words that indicate ideas such as time, place, manner and frequency.
2. She is my teacher but she is also my friend.
Wrong!
But is a conjunction and friend is a noun. Also is the adverb.
3. He always wears a coat, even in summer.
Wrong!
Wears is a verb and summer is a noun. Always is the adverb.
4. He often comes and stays with us.
Wrong!
With is a preposition; and is a conjunction; often is an adverb of frequency
5. I am going to Venice today.
Wrong!
Time words are adverbs.
6. You have definitely been a great help.
Wrong!
Words ending in -ly are usually adverbs; note that there are a few exceptions to this rule.

Next is an adjective; garden is a noun; happily is the adverb.

Properly is an adverb indicating manner.
