Prepositions often cause problems. Can you use them correctly? Fill in the blanks with an appropriate preposition.

We use at to talk about position at a place.

In is used for position inside three-dimensional spaces.

On the way means during the journey.

4. Please don't stand in the door - you are .......................... my way.

In the / my way is used for obstacles.

5. There is no way ............................ proving that he was lying.

Correct! Wrong!

6. She has acted ............................ several movies.

Correct! Wrong!

The correct expression is 'act in movies'.

7. Have you put the meat ........................ the fridge?

Correct! Wrong!

8. I haven't seen her after she moved ......................... Canada.

Correct! Wrong!

We use 'to' to indicate direction.

9. Can you put the child .......................... bed?

Correct! Wrong!

To put someone to bed is to make them go to bed.

10. The President will appear ........................ television tonight.

Correct! Wrong!

The correct expressions are on the radio, on television and on the phone.

11. We want the meeting to start exactly ......................... time.

Correct! Wrong!

If something happens on time, it happens at the planned time.

12. She decided to quit her job ........................ several reasons.

Correct! Wrong!

We use 'for' before reason.
