This interactive grammar exercise tests your ability to make questions and negatives in English. Fill in the blanks with an appropriate verb form. Choose your answers from the given options.

Progress 0 of 12 answered
1She ............... want to be disturbed while she is working.
Wrong!
In the simple present tense, we make negatives by putting do not or does not before the infinitive. We use does not when the subject is a singular noun or pronoun.
2You ............... returned the camera you borrowed from me.
Wrong!
The past participle 'returned' clearly indicates that we need have, not do, here.
3Michael ............... speak French.
Wrong!
We use ‘does not’ here because Michael is a singular noun.
4Did you ............... the parcel last week?
Wrong!
After do and does we use the infinitive (first form of the verb). Did + send -> sent
5They ............... the meeting yesterday.
Wrong!
The present perfect tense cannot be used with past time expressions.
6She buys a lot of things she ...............
Wrong!
We use does with singular nouns and pronouns. Also, we use the simple present to talk about habits.
7............... you injure yourself while playing football yesterday?
Wrong!
The auxiliaries do and have are used in the present tenses.
8Where could ............... at this hour of the night?
Wrong!
In questions, only the first of the two auxiliaries goes before the subject.
9............... I told you not to be late?
Wrong!
10They ............... tabulated the marks yet.
Wrong!
11Have you been ............... for long?
Wrong!
In the present perfect continuous tense, we use has/have + been + ing form of the verb.
12Rahul ............... the test in the first attempt.
Wrong!
Done.
