Complete the following sentences using an appropriate word or phrase.

Progress 0 of 6 answered
1No football team ............... a championship without defenders.
Wrong!
After the negative subject "No football team", use "can win" to express that winning is not possible without defenders.
2How many players ............... in a baseball team?
Wrong!
In a question with a plural noun, use "are there" before the subject complement.
3..............., a deer leapt out in front of me.
Wrong!
Use "While I was driving down the road" because the time clause needs a clear subject before the deer appears.

Use the past simple "captured" for a completed historical event with the date 1453.
5Although it ............... for days, the cricket pitch was in perfect condition.
