Some verbs can be followed by either an infinitive or an -ing form. Some can only be followed by an infinitive. Some others can only be followed by -ing forms.

Complete the following sentences with an infinitive or an -ing form.

We use "to score" to show the purpose of studying.

After "requested someone", we use "to lend" as the infinitive.

Wrong!
After "let me", use the base verb "go".
7He didn't let me ............... his room.
Wrong!
After "let me", use the base verb "enter".
8The children are busy ............... their project.
Wrong!
After "busy", we use "doing" as the -ing form.
9I am looking forward ............... you.
Wrong!
The phrase "looking forward to" is followed by "to seeing" with a gerund after "to".
10I meant ............... the letter, but I forgot.
Wrong!
After "meant" for an intention, use "to post".
