Use the simple present to talk about facts, truths etc.

Use a singular verb with everyone. Use the simple present to talk about facts.

9. Neither the child nor his parents ………………………… there.

Correct! Wrong!

When we connect two nouns with neither/nor, the verb agrees with the one closer to nor.

10. Both Shyam and his brother ……………………… doctors.

Correct! Wrong!

Use a plural verb with both.

11. I didn’t ……………………… that she was lying.

Correct! Wrong!

Use the bare infinitive after do, does and did.

12. She …………………….. never apologized to anyone.

Correct! Wrong!
