Belief and believe are closely related, but they do different jobs in a sentence.
Belief is a noun. It names an idea, trust, or feeling that something is true. You can have a belief, question a belief, or talk about your beliefs.
Believe is a verb. It describes the action of accepting something as true or trusting that it is true. You believe a story, believe a person, or believe that something will happen.

- They believe the team can win.
A simple way to remember it is this: if you need a thing, use belief. If you need an action, use believe.
Compare these two sentences: His belief inspired others. Here, the word names an idea. I believe he is honest. Here, the word shows an action of trust or acceptance.
If the sentence needs something you can point to as a concept, choose belief. If the sentence needs something a person does, choose believe.
